Green Jobs Promoted through the Oil Spill Clean up Efforts
The disaster caused by the Gulf Of Mexico oil spill remains uncertain as to whether it will be serious or whether it will be solved. However, the spill has developed temporary green jobs to address the clean up operations.

BP has hired around 25,000 workers to help the spill clean up effort. In some states like Florida, Texas, Louisiana and Alabama specific websites have been put up for workers looking for oil spill response work.

Coming to the key part, these workers will have to undergo the training on hazardous waste management. The HAZWOPER certificate is required for many oil spill clean up positions. The OSHA HAZWOPER certification is one major requirement for workers to work on remediation sites. The HAZWOPER program corresponds to the OSHA standard which considers the oil spill clean up and containment as an emergency response project.

Though the BP oil spill has opened a door for green color jobs, the seriousness of the work however, requires an intense training for the workers in order to handle the clean up operations smoothly.
